A promotional poster for the Pro-Choice YQL annual general meeting features two women making rebellious gestures, with one sporting a faux mustache and both dressed in leather jackets. The event is scheduled for June 17 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and the poster highlights topics like resolutions, financial transparency, and access wins, with decorative icons of a plant, a flame, an eye, and a pink glove.

Pro-Choice YQL's education values encompass a commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and empowering learning environment.

At its core, Pro-Choice YQL believes in individuals' fundamental right to autonomy over their bodies and lives. This principle extends to education, where the organization firmly advocates for a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to sexual and reproductive health education. Pro-Choice YQL recognizes that all people should have access to accurate information about contraception, safe sex practices, consent, and the full range of available reproductive options.

We emphasize the importance of teaching critical thinking skills, encouraging everyone to question societal norms and engage in informed discussions on topics such as gender, sexuality, and reproductive rights. By prioritizing open dialogue and providing resources that support inclusivity and respect, Pro-Choice YQL aims to empower people to make informed decisions about their bodies, relationships, and futures.

Our workshops are custom built depending on audience, organizational need and time. All workshops contain:

  • Information on how to access medical and surgical abortion health in Alberta

  • Safer Sex Education

  • Sexual health care myth-busting

  • Reproductive health care access in Canada

This workshop is hosted by Kelsie McGee, a trauma-informed Pelvic Health Physiotherapist with a passion for accessible, inclusive care. Kelsie brings warmth, knowledge, and a no-shame approach to topics that often get brushed under the rug.

In this recorded session, you'll learn:

  • What the pelvic floor actually is and why it matters for all genders

  • Common myths and misinformation (spoiler: leaking when you sneeze isn’t “just normal”)

  • How pelvic floor issues can be connected to trauma, chronic pain, and sexual health

  • What to expect from a pelvic floor physio appointment

  • How to navigate Alberta’s public and private pelvic health services

  • Tips you can use right now to start supporting your pelvic floor
